Lord Lieutenant visits Liverpool Lighthouse to celebrate the work of volunteers

Updated: Jun 12, 2023

We were delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant to our Community Fun Day and Gospel Music Showcase on Monday 8th May to celebrate the work of volunteers at Liverpool Lighthouse. It was a fantastic day, enjoyed by over 500 members of the community and made possible by the work of amazing volunteers. Monday was also The Big Help Out - an event inspired by the Coronation to encourage people to get involved in volunteering.

Volunteers are incredibly important to us here at Liverpool Lighthouse. From our Creative Wellbeing Assistants, to our volunteer stewards and our peer mentors, volunteers are what make our programmes work and we couldn't do what we do without them.

On Monday, we were also incredibly grateful to have an amazing team of volunteers from Amazon, who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to making sure that all of our community visitors had a great day. From putting up bunting, to running the welcome and registration desk, to supervising the bouncy castle, right the way through to clean up our Amazon volunteers supported our staff and normal volunteer crew, mucking in with whatever was needed and generally making themselves invaluable.

Inspired by The Big Help Out we want to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers for their hard work, Amazon for supporting their staff to volunteer here at Liverpool Lighthouse and the Lord Lieutenant for his visit.

We also want to invite anyone interested in volunteering at Liverpool Lighthouse, on our community or youth programmes or for events, to drop in or get in touch at info@liverpoollighthouse.com.
