Are you a parent of children under 18? Do you want to improve your skills, your wellbeing or just feel connected to others? Activities for our new Family Connect - Moving on UP project will run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during term time at Liverpool Lighthouse. Some activities are for parents only and for others children are welcome to join in - see the information provided for the activity. The programme up until half term is given below. Let's Cook: fab food on a budget
Activity for parents
10am - 12pm
Cook tasty meals on a budget! Develop skills in preparing and cooking a range of ingredients and together cook a meal to share with others and take some home for your family.
Storytime
Activity for parents with children
11am - 12pm
A creative hour of stories, rhymes and songs for you and your little ones aged 1 - 4yrs and to encourage a shared love of stories.
Focus of stories is 1-4yrs but babies welcome
Singing for Wellbeing
Activity for parents (children welcome)
12:30pm - 1:30pm
Boost your wellbeing by coming to sing together. Open to all, big and small, whether you have the voice of an angel or croak like a frog, you are welcome to come and share the fun.
Bat, Board and Chat

A fun, sociable session to play table tennis, board games and connect with others.
Money Matters

Combat the cost-of-living crisis. A practical session to focus on managing money, family budgets and how to make savings in your day-to-day spending.

Writing for Wellbeing

Are you a poet and you don't even know it? A creative writing session with a different theme each week, writing tips and techniques and sharing of work and group discussion.
Conversation Café

Come for a chat over a cuppa. With a different theme each week, this is a gentle, relaxing session and a chance to make your voice heard in a safe space and connect with others.
Managing Stress

It's a stressful world we live in, sometimes we all need a bit of help to cope. Join us for tips and techniques to manage stress.
Thursday:
Music-time Activity for parents with children 10am - 11am Come and sing and play together with your little ones. Music is magic and it helps children develop their language skills and gives them a head start (up to 4yrs). Confidence & Fun through Drama Activity for parents 11am - 12pm Remember that little white lie you told about that thing you broke when you were a kid. If you got away with it you'd probably be great at drama. If you didn't, come anyway and learn some skills! A fun drama focused session to build confidence, reduce stress and to encourage creative fun and laughter. Managing Anxiety Activity for parents 10am - 11am Anxiety is very common and can hold us back. Join us in exploring strategies to manage and reduce anxiety Buttons & Bobbins Activity for parents 12:30pm - 1:30pm A practical and creative session to learn basic sewing techniques and recycle and upcycle clothes and fabrics into new creations. Story Café Activity for parents 1:30pm - 2:30pm Each week, this is a gentle, relaxing session and a chance to connect with others. Book in advance to avoid disappointment, although you will be allowed to join on the day if there is space.
