What we do
MUSIC
Music is a powerful tool for wellbeing, for this reason we have an extensive programme of music here at Lighthouse.
This includes our outreach choir, Lighthouse Choir, which was formed during lockdown and has a mission to sing and record songs of hope, comfort and healing.
As part of our commitment to support and develop artists from underrepresented backgrounds in the arts we are developing a National Gospel Music Centre, partnering with others around the country to raise the profile of Gospel Music.
This includes developing an international Gospel Music Festival, an artist development programme, taking gospel music into schools and partnering in the creation of an archive for gospel music heritage.
COMMUNITY
At Liverpool Lighthouse we believe that everything starts with wellbeing. As an arts and community centre we run a community programme that offers arts activities to improve your wellbeing and mental health, alongside practical support with a fresh food pantry, advice and support when you need it and a warm place to have a cuppa and a chat. We also offer English language classes for speakers of other languages.
ARTISTS' LIGHTHOUSE
Liverpool Lighthouse recently became an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation, with the remit to develop a Creative Sanctuary with an open creative agenda, where artists can find space, support, skills and career development and have opportunities to take risks and collaborate.
YOUTH
Our Young Creative Lighthouse programme helps young people develop skills to speak up, speak out and have their voices heard. They take part in activities that build their confidence and self-esteem and develop the skills they need to thrive. We welcome young people with additional needs and provide hot food in all our youth sessions. We also run free holiday clubs for 6-13s in school holidays and half terms and a Saturday music school.
We are an arts and community centre located in a former Gaumont Cinema building, refurbished to a high standard, offering a 430 seated auditorium with full disabled access and high spec sound and lighting. The venue also offers two state-of-the-art audio recording suites, a well equipped small café and a number of conference rooms.
Need a veue for an event, a rehearsal space or meeting? Spaces within Liverpool Lighthouse are available to hire.

WHO WE ARE
Liverpool Lighthouse is a registered charity working in North Liverpool. We provide a Creative Sanctuary, focused on arts and wellbeing, with the aim of building a thriving community of people living more fulfilled lives.
We offer our local communities, vulnerable people, artists and young people a creative, safe space to develop skills and wellbeing through arts.
Our programmes tackle the root causes of social disadvantage, creating long-term, transformational change in our community and our city. As an arts venue we are dedicated to supporting the development of artists from underrepresented backgrounds, and we are the only dedicated Gospel Music Centre in the North of England
